Good accessibility for wheelchairs
Atmospheric for hard of hearing and visually impaired
Great day out for for all ages

Dean Forest Railway traces its history back to 1809, the Severn and Wye Railway preserving the last remnant of a once extensive forest railway.

Steam-hauled passenger trains run from Nochard to Lydney Junction, which takes about 15 minutes but may extend northwards toward Parkend. All stations have access slopes and the trains carry access ramps and there are limited spaces for wheelchairs onboard. There are disabled toilets at both stations but unfortunately not on the trains. For both the visually impaired and the hard of hearing, the sights and sounds of the locomotives can be very atmospheric. If you have any special needs then just phone and let the staff know.
