Twelve state-of-the-art galleries

Twelve state-of-the-art galleries each focusing on unique aspects of maritime life.

The museum, costing over £21 million, is a major landmark building on the waterfront, housing state-of-the-art interactive displays, depicting both the nation's and Cornwall's maritime heritage. A major feature is the NMM's Small Boat Collection, hitherto unseen, tracing the evolution of the significant small boats that have shaped modern craft.

You start your tour (set sail) pass some incredible model galleries and onto a huge audio-visual presentations. The view of real boats and ships takes your breath away, the nice thing is you can stand next to and touch the boats that makes everything so real. You may learn an incredible amount about the sea and sailing, you don't have to be a boat specialist to enjoy this museum.

Throughout the museum the walkways are all ramped and therefore very disabled friendly. There is a lift to the top of the tower.
